The star of “Real Madrid” joins the injured list before El Clasico, and Mbappe’s position becomes more uncertain.

It has been confirmed that Courtois is ready to return from Barcelona after a long absence

Real Madrid goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois is fully prepared to return against Barcelona after a long absence from El Clasico if manager Alvaro Arbeloa decides to rely on him, while striker Kylian Mbappe’s position is becoming more ambiguous.

“Real Madrid” is going to meet “Barcelona” in the 35th round of La Liga next Sunday at the “Spotify Camp Nou” stadium.

Real Madrid are looking to beat Barca at home as it is the only result that swings the title decider in favor of the Catalan side and a celebration in front of their opponents.

According to Marca newspaper on Wednesday, Courtois will be ready to return to the starting line-up immediately, as the goalkeeper continues to train normally with the team to attend El Clasico.

Courtois was out for 51 days with an injury which he picked up as Real struggled for the league and Champions League, but he now returns as the team left Europe and were virtually out of the La Liga race.

The Belgian goalkeeper’s absence is one of the most significant blows Real Madrid has suffered this season, as his absence at crucial moments has clearly affected the team.

Recent results show this, as the team has managed just 3 wins, 3 losses and 2 draws in the eight matches that Courtois has been sidelined with after picking up an injury in the second leg against Manchester City on 17 March.

Arbeloa decides on Mbappe’s position on Thursday

For his part, Mbappe continues to train alone, outside the group, while his participation in El Clasico is still in doubt, just 5 days before the clash.

The attacker was supposed to undergo tests today to find out the extent of his recovery, but the MRI examination was postponed until tomorrow.

If all goes without a hitch, he is expected to take part in the team’s training on Thursday, which could bring him closer to the Barcelona clash, although he will arrive there not fully fit after suffering a hamstring injury against Real Betis.

Accordingly, Thursday will be crucial to see if coach Alvaro Arbeloa can bring back the team’s top goalscorer.

Mbappe is not having his best days at Real Madrid in light of the strain between him and his teammates on the one hand and the fans on the other hand, reportedly because he traveled to Italy with his girlfriend instead of recuperating at El Clasico.

Ceballos joins the wounded

On the other hand, Marca report that Dani Ceballos has received a medical after being left out of the last two lists by technical decision following a dispute with Arbeloa, as the midfielder was content to train at the club’s premises due to pain in his right ankle.

Thus, he joins the injured list, which includes Dani Carvajal, Arda Guler, Ferland Mendy, Eder Militao and Rodrigo.
