The best PTZ camera

PTZ, also known as Pan-Tilt-Zoom cameras, are the hottest home office cameras in the world. As the name suggests, this is more versatile than a regular webcam. Basically, the camera sits on a gimbal and can follow you around the room using face tracking. They can move left or right, tilt up and down, and use the digital interface. It’s a very high-end feature, and probably not the kind of feature most webcam shoppers need. But if you use your webcam for streaming, giving presentations, training courses, or anything else that involves being on camera while walking around your room, you may need one. Even if you don’t need one, you might get kicked out just trying everything they can do.

There are a few good options, but the best ones are Obsbot Tiny 3 ($349). That’s too bad, because it’s the most expensive webcam I’ve tested at $349. This is more than most people want to use for webcams, but it produced very accurate quality. This camera captures true-to-life quality without over-focusing, better than any other camera I’ve tried, even beyond what Insta360 cameras can do. I still love the low resolution of the Insta360 cameras, but the Obsbot Tiny 3’s colors are natural. It can shoot in 120 frames per second in 1080p, although I’m not sure what the function is.

Obsbot also has a cheaper version, the Obsbot Tiny 3 Lite ($179)which would be the PTZ webcam that most people should buy because of the low price. It’s a small step down from the photo format, because it uses a smaller camera device. Most importantly, you don’t get a natural blackout and the low profile isn’t as strong. But it’s one of the cheapest ways to get PTZ products without breaking the bank. And really, it’s the PTZ features that you buy these cameras for.

In its latest release, Obsbot has introduced many new ways to control the gimbal using AI. It can track objects, track your voice, and provide you with a variety of voice options that can be useful in specific situations. For example, one can. There’s also a feature that lets you use pre-set voice commands to control the gimbal, such as choosing between pre-set angles or zooming in. Everything from the previous program is still there, which is too much to mention here, but it includes setting preset angles, desk mode, multiple rounds of head tracking, and more. There’s tons to play with, which is what makes these PTZ cameras so much fun.

If you like the design of Insta360, the company has a PTZ version of the Link 2C Pro that I recommended above. The Insta360 Link 2 Pro ($250) it has the exact same image and microphone, with additional features such as the ability to rotate, tilt, and zoom. (There is also a cheaper version, the Insta360 Link 2 ($200).) The biggest advantage it has over the Obsbot Tiny 3 is that it’s $100 cheaper. This is important, even if the color accuracy is not good. For what it’s worth, I liked how it felt a little lighter than the Obsbot Tiny 3. The Tiny 3 was overexposed.

Although the Insta360 Link 2 Pro isn’t as good as the Obsbot cameras in terms of AI trickery, I like that you can control the gimbal using your phone to make adjustments. Instead of relying on a computer app or voice commands, Insta360 cameras allow you to quickly control them in your phone’s browser after scanning a QR code, which is very useful.
