Chris Billum-Smith and Ryan Rosicky meet for the first time Sky Sports Tuesday studio.
Ahead of their clash at Bournemouth on June 6, live on Sky SportsThey were filming the latest version Gloves are off.
The first time they faced each other, Rosicky was looking for a weakness.
“When we’re looking down, I’m just thinking about what I’m going to do to somebody. I’m not trying to scare them,” Rosicky said. Sky Sports.
“I’m thinking about their facial structure and breaking facial bones or whatever.
“The spots will show where he’s weak. You see a lot of things, you see them not seeing where the punches are coming from, things like that. That’s it for me.”
Billam-Smith is a tough fighter, just like Rosicky. But nicknamed “The Gentleman” for good reason, he’s usually quiet until the first bell.
“Some people like to come in and play mind games, and that comes from their own insecurities,” says Billam-Smith Sky Sports. “If they start trash-talking, I think it comes off as if they’re missing something.
“I don’t need to do that and it doesn’t make a difference on fight night.”
Canada’s Rosicky, who will fight in the UK for the first time on June 6, is a ferocious puncher and 20 of his 21 professional victories have come over the distance.
Their title clash at the Bournemouth International Center will be intense.
“I think I do it as brutally as I can. I think I can win a lot of ways. I think there’s only one way he can win and that’s I’m too reckless and drag too much into the fight and try to punch him and let him do what he does,” Billum-Smith said. “Sometimes I hope it’s a bit of a firefight.
“It’s going to be brutal at times. It has to be. Because he keeps coming and he’s a big puncher. But being in there with me is different than other people.”
