76ers’ Nick Nurse attends brother’s funeral, expected for Game 2

New York — Philadelphia 76ers Coach Nick Nurse was away from the team ahead of Game 2 of Tuesday’s second-round playoff series against the team. New York Knicks To attend his brother’s funeral.

Nurse’s brother Steve Nurse, 62, died unexpectedly last Wednesday. Nick Nurse left the team following Philadelphia 137–98 damage Service on Tuesday in Ankeny, Iowa to open the second round against the Knicks on Monday.

Nurse is expected to rejoin the Sixers for Game 2 Wednesday night at Madison Square Garden.

“I want to extend my condolences to Nick Nurse and his family, his brother’s family and all their friends,” Knicks coach Mike Brown said at the team’s training facility in suburban Greenburgh. “Life is precious and you wouldn’t wish that on anyone, so my condolences go out to him and his family as they go through this time.”
