Pornhub Restores Access to UK Adults Who Use Apple Age Verification

Three months later Pornhub blocked access for new users in the United Kingdom, the adult entertainment company says it will allow users there to view its content as long as they verify their age through an Apple device.

Aylo, the parent company of Pornhub, created it to announce On Tuesday, I note that the release of Apple iOS 26.4 is the “first age verification system for users in the UK” which it says will “better protect children everywhere.”

Likewise, the company says UK users on iOS devices and iPads (not MacBooks, which use the operating system) will also be welcomed into the fold.

Last July, the UK released a new version child protection requiring adults who want to view pornography to verify that they are not minors using ID, facial scans, or other verification methods. As a result, in February, Pornhub blocked content for new users who had not completed age verification.

Apple’s idea of verifying age on devices only is something Aylo has been pushing for a long time; in November the company sent letters to Apple, Google, and Microsoft imploring them to take action.

It is they argued before that device-based age verification is more secure than age verification through third-party websites or other online methods. In its announcement, the company said that Apple’s security measures for users under the age of 18 are among the “strongest and most difficult to circumvent existing security measures to help prevent children from accessing age-appropriate content.”

About half of US states have enacted age-verification laws, and Pornhub has removed content from most of them.
