Google’s new DeepMind AI can control the robot’s entire body


Google DeepMind says the latest version of Gemini Robotic AI can “control all humanoid robots.” When a in the past directly in controlling the body of a humanoid robot, Gemini Robotics 2 now supports “whole body movement” from feet to toes, according to announced Thursday.

The company says the Gemini Robotic ER 2 is the “safest robotics system to date,” as it can “accurately detect when people are nearby, trigger a call to the security system and stop the robot if someone gets too close.”

Meanwhile, Google DeepMind has introduced an update to the Gemini Robotic On-Device Model, which can run locally on the robot without internet. The model can now quickly adapt to new features, including those with “different features, sensors and degrees of freedom.”
