A drought has been declared for the whole of Wales amid record temperatures.


Drought is widespread across Wales, with the country having its driest July on record in 190 years.

The country’s environment body, Natural Resources Wales (NRW), has declared the drought to be “exacerbating” the state of the natural environment due to rising temperatures.

The decision was made in response to low river levels, dry soils, widespread wildfires and damage to mountain wildlife, agriculture and forests.
