Spotify has introduced a new Running Mode feature that makes it easy to customize playlists based on your fitness goals, preferences, and desired beats per minute (BPM). The goal is to help you “spend less time searching for the right song and more time,” according to Spotify’s announcement, by providing you with customizable settings and a customizable learning interface.
Running Mode is an AI-driven experience that is tailored to the settings it was introduced to He promoted Playlists last yearwhile Spotify found that exercise incentives have been among the most popular of these. It requires a Premium subscription and can be found under the Fitness hub that Spotify was launched in April. It’s available starting today on the Spotify app for iOS, but for users in the US, UK, Canada, Ireland, Australia, New Zealand, and Sweden for now.
There are 25 presets to choose from, which can be customized around your favorite music, workout duration, BPM, and training method – including interval, intensity, and pyramid. Running Mode also includes audio in English that provides “timely notifications and motivation without interrupting your music,” according to Spotify.
This isn’t the first time that Spotify has made an offer for runners. He started a Spotify Running A feature in 2015 that was also designed to help you compare music to your speed, in the past to remove it in 2018. There is a big difference between it and the new Running method, however – Spotify Running used your phone’s hardware notice your movements and take action by playing music that goes along with it, while Running Mode requires you to define your workout goals right from the start.
