The transfer of Argentina’s Julian Alvarez has entered a new phase after Barcelona received an official notice from the Spanish Football Federation and FIFA amid Atletico Madrid’s complaint against the Catalan club about the player.

“Atletico” accuses “Barcelona” of violating the regulations
Atletico Madrid filed a formal complaint on June 30, accusing Barcelona of making contact with Julián Alvarez during an inadmissible period under regulations governing player transfers.
The 26-year-old Argentine forward has a contract with Atletico Madrid that runs until the summer of 2030. The club’s CEO, Miguel Angel Gil Marin, had earlier confirmed that the club would apply to the relevant authorities to protect its rights, which later turned into a complaint to the Spanish federation and FIFA.
“Barcelona” insists that Alvarez be included
Despite the legal crisis, Julian Alvarez remains Barcelona’s first target in the summer transfer window to strengthen the attacking line.
The president of the Catalan club, Joan Laporta, revealed last July 13 that Atletico Madrid had already received a formal offer to include the player from Barcelona, but the management of the capital club refused to negotiate his departure, making the deal one of the most complicated documents in Mercato this summer.
Reports suggested that Alvarez had expressed his desire for a new experience away from the Metropolitano Stadium during the World Cup, but Atletico Madrid are still standing by their stance, refusing to part with his services.
August 10 is a crucial day
Attention is turning to August 10, the date set for Julián Alvarez’s return to training at Atletico Madrid in preparation for the new season, as the player’s return is expected to reveal his final stance on his future, given Barcelona’s continued interest in signing him.
At the same time, the Catalan club does not want to delay the negotiations, because in parallel it continues to work on other attacking options, if the contract deal with the Argentine attacker fails.
