Much of the area I’m helping firefighters is a nature reserve owned by the National Trust.
The area is also close to the RSPB Minsmere nature reserve.
He asked people to stay away from Westleton Heath, Mount Pleasant, Westleton Walks and the main Broadway road into Dunwich.
The fire service said crews were using equipment including off-road vehicles, drones and quad bikes.
“Members of the public are advised to avoid the area and stop the road for emergency vehicles,” he said.
The fire comes after the UK’s health agency issued an amber heat-health warning for the East Midlands, East, South East and London.
