You’d think all the trailers for the next big movie would have been released at San Diego Comic-Con last week. But Sony Pictures decided to wait until today to drop the trailer Jumanji: Open Worlddirector Jake Kasdan’s sequel to his 2019 hit, Jumanji: The Next Level.
(Some spoilers for previous movies below but nothing major reveals.)
First thing Friday the film, released in 1995 and starring the late Robin Williams, is based on the 1981 children’s book by Chris Van Allsburg. Critics were kind of meh about the movie, but audiences loved it, and it’s been a hit ever since. In the film 2005 It’s over it was a stand-up comedy based on another Van Allsburg book. Although it didn’t do well at the box office, it has been doing well for the past 20 years and has its own small fan base. There were also some forgettable TV shows.
