Comcast store punished for low sales by smashing pies in employees’ faces, lawsuits claim

A lawsuit against cable division Comcast alleges that a store manager shamed the lowest seller every month with an unusual ritual in which a cream pie was smashed in the employee’s face. The lawsuit alleges that the store manager took videos of the assaults and ordered employees to participate in the assaults and record their videos.

A Comcast store in Plainville, Connecticut, “had a policy where the highest ranking Sales Manager last month was instructed by his supervisor—Ms. Peterson, the Comcast Store manager—to tie the lowest ranking sales manager to a chair in the back office and beat the person by giving him a violent whipping cream,” complaint he says.

David Figueroa’s lawsuit said he was hired as a sales consultant on February 2, 2026, and was supervised by store manager Sully Fuentes Peterson. Figueroa says that Peterson “created and implemented” a pie-in-the-face culture to meet sales goals and better responses to customer surveys.
