Do friendly results affect Al-Raqi’s season?
Saudi Arabia’s “Al-Ahly” team ended their foreign camp in preparation for the new football season of 2026-2027 with another slip, failing to achieve their second victory.
Al-Ahli drew 1-1 with English side Fulham today, Tuesday, in the team’s sixth and final friendly before the start of the new season at their overseas camp in Austria and Portugal.
It was Al-Ahli who opened the scoring in the 20th minute of the match through their Brazilian striker Ricardo Matias, before the English team equalized minutes before the end of the first half.
This was the second match that Al-Raqi played today, Tuesday, after losing 2-0 to the Portuguese team “Portimonense” in the afternoon.
The Fulham match saw the normal participation of most of the main players, unlike the Portimonense match, where only Brazilian winger Henderson Galeño participated in the foreign team.
Thus, “Al-Ahly” ends its foreign camp in Austria and Portugal with one victory, which it achieved with 8 clean balls at the expense of Austrian “Saalfelden” in the first friendly match.
Since then, Al Rakhi suffered 3 defeats against Holstein Kiel of Germany, Vitoria Guimarães and Portimonense of Portugal, while having positive draws against both Rio Ave of Portugal and Fulham of England.
In the next few hours, the Saudi Arabian national team should return to Jeddah to complete the final preparations in the kingdom before the start of the new season.
