Officially… Moine Chaabani is the coach of Tunisia

After the World Cup disaster… the start of a new era for the Carthage Eagles

The Tunisian Football Federation announced today, Tuesday, the appointment of Moin Chaabani as the coach of the Tunisian national team, following the modest performance of the Carthage Eagles at the 2026 World Cup.

The Tunisian team performed poorly and lost their three matches with disastrous resultsgroup stage bye to the 2026 World Cup, where they started their campaign with defeats against Sweden (5-1), then (4-0) Japan, then (3-1) Holland.

Sabri Lamouchi was the coach of the Tunisian national team in the first match against Sweden before the Tunisian federation sacked him after a heavy defeat and appointed Hervé Renard, but he could not save the Eagles of Carthage and he left after just two games.

The Tunisian federation announced on its official Facebook page that it has signed a contract with Chaabani for a period of 4 years until the 2030 World Cup.

He added that Al-Shaabani’s assistant staff includes Murad Al-Maliki (assistant coach), Saif Allah Hosni (assistant coach), Khaled Al-Maghzawi (goalkeeping coach), Hatem Bulilah (physical coach) and Wissam Safwat (analytics officer).

Chaabani has many titles in his coaching career, the most important of which is the African Champions League twice with Esperance of Tunisia in 2018 and 2019, in addition to the African Confederation Cup in 2025 with RS Berkane of Morocco.
