As the war between Ukraine and Iran progresses, Zelensky and Netanyahu meet with Trump

Netanyahu arrived at the White House shortly after Zelensky left on Tuesday.

The discussion between him and Trump is expected to focus on the Iran conflict.

The once-friendly relationship between them has soured in recent months, with Trump repeatedly criticizing Israel for continuing its attacks in Lebanon and ignoring ceasefires.

After the meeting, the prime minister told Israeli media that the two had a “common goal, an understanding of Iran not having nuclear weapons and other goals.”

“One of the best conversations I’ve had with the president of the United States,” he added.

A photo of the two leaders shared by Netanyahu’s X account shows the two men sitting in the Oval Office and smiling at the camera.

Their meeting came a day after Trump said “very amicable negotiations are underway” on the conflict with Iran, after the warring parties did not exchange strikes for a third day in a row.

In a statement to reporters from an Air Force One passenger, he expressed his hope for an end to the war: “I think there’s a good chance something will happen.”

But on Tuesday night, US Central Command (CENTCOM) said. Iran’s military “launched several ballistic missiles from Iran in a surprise attack on US military forces in the Middle East”.

CENTCOM reported that the missiles were successfully intercepted.
