A huge development for the Barcelona duo… and uncertainty over Rafinha’s position

Frankie de Jong was also on the field

Barcelona trained at St George’s Park on Tuesday under the watchful eye of German coach Hans Flick as two players gradually integrated into the squad after recovering from injuries.

According to the newspaperMundo Deportivo:Barcelona trained again at St George’s Park, completing the third training session of their pre-season tour of England.

Flick led physical training, which was again attended by Fermín López and Ronald Araujo.

The two players took part in pre-training and transition training with their teammates, and in the final part of the session they did some light running separately to recover from injuries.

Goalkeeper Marc ter Stegen continued training as normal while awaiting the end of his loan at Ajax, while Alejandro Balde continued his individual training program.

The left back has been in this program for a week and has not yet joined the rest of the team. However, he trained alone and was seen leaving the training ground with the rest of the players.

Also on the field was Frankie de Jong, who was undergoing conservative treatment after it was confirmed he had torn the medial collateral ligament in his right knee. The Dutch player exchanged conversations with a number of members of the technical staff while his teammates were conducting their field training.

“Barcelona” is preparing for another double training at “St. George’s Park” on Wednesday. Rafinha is expected to join the squad, but it is not yet clear whether the Brazilian will fully participate in training with the squad after suffering a muscle injury during the World Cup.
