Apple’s new HomePad device could compete with Google and Amazon

Over the years, we’ve been hearing new rumors a home appliance from Applemeaning taking home smart devices like the Google Nest Hub Mini and the Amazon Echo Show. According to Gurman, the new smart home will have a 7-inch display and a new operating system based on Apple’s tvOS, with “groups of icons, widgets and apps” reminiscent of iOS and WatchOS. It will feature a redesigned Siri AI at its core, as well as video chat, security, and intercom features that connect to other Apple Home devices. Gurman says the device will also be able to change its display, including text and screen size, depending on who is looking at the display.

The rumored device is part of a big push for Apple’s smart home, which has previously relied heavily on third-party devices to compete in the space. But with its Siri addition in September, the company may feel like it’s ready to step up. Apple is said to be unveiling smart home displays in Spring 2025, but after the company delayed its AI-enhanced Siri, it made the launch coincide with the release of iOS 27 and Siri AI.

In addition to the new Home Hub, Apple is reportedly counting on its high-end security camera to compete with Amazon’s new Ring system. Apple TV device, it is new HomePod mini. And after that, it can start its own rumours a robot arm with a screen.
