‘Do the right thing’: Savannah Guthrie makes another plea to mother kidnappers

US TV presenter Savannah Guthrie has asked her mother Nancy to share her whereabouts in a video she shared on social media against her mother’s abductors.

“I’m begging you to do the right thing now,” she said. “Help us find her – tell us where to look.”

Investigators believe Nancy Guthrie, who was last seen on Jan. 31, was taken voluntarily from her home near Tucson, Arizona, but have not shared a possible motive or arrested a suspect.

A ransom note sent to an 84-year-old woman in the days after she was abducted from her home was found dead, investigators said.

It was one of two ransom notes released to Nancy Guthrie’s family and released to the news media after her arrest in January. The first demanded millions for her release, while the second said she was dead, US media quoted unnamed sources as saying.

In her latest video posted on Monday, Savannah Guthrie addressed her potential abduction.

“It’s been months since our mom was taken from us,” Guthrie said.

“Our family is in pain, we are in an endless nightmare. Nothing has changed, we have done our part and we will never stop looking for her. We will always suffer for her and feel that hole in our hearts.”

She added: “Help us bring this situation to an end. I believe that for all of us, no matter where we have been and what we have done, there is always a way home. Please make the right choice.”

The Pima County Sheriff’s Department has not commented on the contents of any apparent ransom notes, but the department said their investigation is “active and ongoing.”

The BBC’s US affiliate CBS and other news outlets have asked law enforcement to stop publishing any details of Nancy Guthrie’s notes while they investigate her disappearance.

The FBI and Pima County spent months investigating the mysterious abduction of her from her Arizona home.

Nancy Guthrie, who needed a daily dose of medicine, went missing some time after being dropped off at her relatives’ home on a January evening nearly six months ago. The next morning, she fails to show up at her friend’s house to watch a virtual Sunday church service.

Earlier this year, authorities released images of a masked and armed suspect who covered the front door of Nancy Guthrie’s home before she disappeared.

The first ransom note was sent the day after she disappeared and demanded millions of bitcoins for her release.

He gave specific details about her home, as well as details about her bedroom and the surroundings of her home, investigators told CBS.

Savannah Guthrie says some of the ransom notes sent to the family are believed to be fake. She said her mother might not be alive.
