American singer D4vd is set to go on trial for the murder of Celeste Rivas Hernandez.

Burke’s arraignment is scheduled for Aug. 31. The trial must commence within 90 days from the said date.

Prosecutors say Burke stabbed the teenager before dismembering her after years of sexually assaulting her.

They alleged that the teenager killed her because he threatened to reveal his relationship with a minor and ruin his multi-million dollar music career.

Evidence read out in court on Monday showed Celeste threatened Burke on April 22, 2025, following an argument over his friendship with another girl.

“I swear to God I’m going to kill you,” one caption said, followed by strangling him and threatening to lie to her father. “I will cut off your job and our lives and hurt anything,” one post said.

The next day, Hernandez went to Burke’s Hollywood home in the Uber he sent to pick her up.

Prosecutors allege Burke stabbed her as soon as she arrived.
