What began as a chance encounter on a flight to Las Vegas may soon be headed to the big screen, as a group of grandmothers and fans discuss a movie based on their story.

Lynn Crawford, 71, Susie Matthews, 73, Rose Sully, 74, and Christine Goodwin, 80; Meet Drayce Gordon – known in the ring as Drayce – On the flight in April.

They were traveling to town to scatter the ashes of Rose’s late husband, Pete. Confusion ensues as soon as they get on the plane – in one of the seats they believe Gordon took by mistake – before they form a friendship and Nance takes Gordon to see him at WrestleMania.

The film’s producer, Nick Barton, said he believes this “unusual story could make a really great and successful movie.”

The story tugged at the heartstrings and made headlines, including calendar girls and the full-monty Nick Barton, “It Shouldn’t Have Happened” as it was turned into a film about the epic “closer to a group of friends.”

“When I first heard about this story back in May, it reminded me of Calendar Girls and Kinky Boots that Harbor Pictures and I produced for Disney and Buena Vista.

“I immediately met Drayce and the Welsh Nanas.

“I believe this unusual story will make a very bright and successful film and I am now working on the next steps towards the production.”
