The best trailers for SDCC 2026 are heavy on cyberpunk and sci-fi

San Diego Comic-Con took place over the weekend, and as usual it was full of news in movies, TV, and games. Marvel revealed The next Ghost Rider (Ryan Gosling) and Black Panther (David Jonsson), while we also have the release dates of God of War: Laufey (February 16) is the fourth and final season of It is not (summer 2027).

But the best part of SDCC every year, especially for those watching at home, are the trailers. And 2026 didn’t disappoint: We got our first look at the much-anticipated cyberpunk show Blade Runner 2099 and Neuromanceralong with a new take on the Stephen King classic and a return for some movie fans.

Here’s all the best in one handy place.

Amazon first revealed that it was working the list is set in Blade Runner the world in 2022, but it took several years before we saw a little of it. 2099 it is set after 50 years the last movie and stars Michelle Yeoh and Hunter Schafer as blade runners and replicants who are forced to work together. The show is a limited series – don’t expect season 2 – and all episodes will air on November 25.

Mike Flanagan had a strong run on Netflix through series like The eviction of Hill House and The Fall of the House of Usherbut Amazon killed him a few years behind his advertising career. They are starting with a series based on Stephen King’s classic Carrie. This isn’t Flanagan’s first edit – check it out Doctor Sleep and Chuck’s life — and begins streaming on October 7.

Lord of the Rings: Rings of Power

Elsewhere on Prime Video, the most epic fantasy work Rings of Power returns for a third season on November 11. Perhaps the biggest addition to season 3 is Simon Pegg joining as the voice of the demonic creature Balrog.

The Apple TV has become the perfect home for watching sci-fi, and thus the adaptation of William Gibson’s seminal cyberpunk novel. Neuromancer seems like a good fit. The new series stars Callum Turner as a “super, super villain,” and starts streaming on January 22nd.

Speaking of sci-fi on Apple TV, the second season of Dark Things will begin streaming on August 28, and a new trailer shows how its story unfolds, with a family seeking protection from an endless variety of characters.

FuturamaThe latest revival has been hit or missbut next season – we’re on the 14th, if you’re counting – at least they seem full of everything from pop stars to vampires. It begins streaming on Disney Plus and Hulu on August 3.

The first season of Senior Swim’s Common side effects It was a wonderful, series of films that looked amazing and explored the real dangers of US healthcare. And Season 2 looks set to continue this trend when it premieres in 2027.

If you have ever wondered what True Detective It would be like showing the police on the air, the DC universe has it covered. HBO Pictures Lamp follows two intergalactic explorers – played by Aaron Pierre and Kyle Chandler – “drawn into the darkness, the mystery of the world and the relationships of the universe” as they look for murder. It will premiere on August 16.

The A24 isn’t exactly known for action movies, but that could change Attackthe latest from Adam Wingard, director of the last two Godzilla vs. Kong films. It’s about a mother trying to protect her daughter from a “powerful army of genetically engineered soldiers,” and it hits theaters on September 4.

The show formerly known as Questions and Vampires (and The Vampire Lestat) is coming up with the next chapter in the Anne Rice saga. Queen of the Damned brings vampire parent Akasha to the series, although there is no word on when the new season will begin.

Well, this isn’t new, but the classic animated film is being re-released in 4K on its 40th anniversary. It will be in theaters on September 17.
