German fans are waiting for the first steps of the Jurgen Klopp era to find out whether it will extend to the identity of the leaders of the German national team or if it will be limited to technical aspects.
Klopp took over as Germany coach last week following the departure of Nagelsmann, who completed his mission after Germany crashed out of the 2026 World Cup in the round of 32, losing to Paraguay on penalties after a 1-1 draw.
Although Klopp did not identify the captain of the national team during his first press conference and only confirmed that all players will have the opportunity to represent Germany, Germany’s sporting director Rudi Föhler ruled out any changes to this file.
