The Saudi Arabian Professional League Association has confirmed that the number of foreign players in the first team roster for the new Saudi Roshan League season will be increased to 10, following a coordination meeting between the association and club representatives last Sunday.

The newspaper revealedSports“Saudi Arabia said that the new regulation will not allow a foreign player registered in the under-21 national team and participating in the elite Joy League to participate in the Roshan League with the first team.

The newspaper clarified that the association has informed the clubs that in the next two days, it will reveal the detailed mechanism for the participation of foreign players registered in the Under-21 teams in the Two Holy Mosques Cup and the Guardian Cup of Saudi Arabia.

Last season’s regulations allowed any foreign player to participate in the Copa del Rey and the Super Cup, regardless of whether he was registered on the first team roster or in the under-21 team, provided that the number of foreigners participating in the match did not exceed 10 players, according to Article (5/1) on eligibility.

It is noteworthy that Al-Hazm won the Joy Elite League title last season, defeating Al-Fateh 3-1 in the final match held in Al-Ahsa on May 23.
