The women’s major season reaches its climax this week at the AIG Women’s Open, with extended coverage from Royal Lytham and St Annes exclusively live on Sky Sports.
Miyu Yamashita returns as defending champion after last year’s breakthrough major win at Royal Porthcawl, with the Japanese star now looking to become the first back-to-back winner of the AIG Women’s Open since Yanni Tseng in 2011.
She has already won the Chevron Championship and the US Women’s Open, while a win would secure her place in the LPGA’s Hall of Fame and complete the career Grand Slam.

When is the AIG Women’s Open live on Sky Sports?
The first two rounds will feature featured group coverage for the first time, with the morning marquee offering full group coverage, with six hours more live action on Sky Sports than last year’s tournament.

AIG Women’s Open Course Weather – Royal Lytham & St Anne’s Golf Club
The Lancashire layout is one of the most iconic on the R&A’s list, as a two-time Ryder Cup venue that has hosted the Open 11 times, while this week’s tournament will mark the sixth time the AIG Women’s Open has been held.
For this year’s tournament the course will play as a par-71 over 6,601 yards, with more than 170 pot bunkers in the fairways and is the only venue on The Open roster that starts with a par-three.

This year’s edition marks the 100th anniversary of when The Open was held for the first time, with Bobby Jones winning, Bobby Locke, Peter Thomson, Bob Charles, Tony Jacklin, Gary Player, Seve Ballesteros (twice), David Duvall and Ernie Els among others lifting the claret jug there.
The last two winners of the AIG Women’s Open at Royal Lytham are British, Hall (2018) followed by Catriona Matthews (2009), while Sherry Steinhauer (twice) and Annika Sorenstam have also enjoyed success at Royal Lytham.
