In a long-awaited move, Toni Kroos is set to return to Real Madrid next season, but not as a coach, as some had expected, but rather to integrate into the club’s sporting structure in a technical advisory role that goes beyond a mere honorary ambassadorship, according to journalist Anton Miana on Radio Cadena Ser.
“The deal is over.”
Miana confirmed that “Real Madrid consider Kroos’ arrival to the sporting establishment to be a settled issue”, clearly indicating that negotiations between the two sides have reached advanced stages and that the German legend’s return is only a matter of time.
“He wants to come and is already talking to the club, which makes it easier to reach a final agreement in light of the mutual desire between both parties.”

“Football Man” inside the temple
Although Kroos, 35, has previously worked as a coach with children in Germany’s own academy, his role at Real Madrid will be completely different.
“The people working at Valdebebas believe that he will come to make his contribution to football matters. He won’t be just an ambassador and he doesn’t want to be just an advisor, but rather he wants to work on the sports field.”
He pointed out that this revealed Cross’s ambition to play an effective and non-honorary role, far from the protocol roles usually assumed by former legends.

Kroos is expected to play a “liaison” role between the sporting department and the club’s various teams, in addition to developing young players at La Fábrica’s academy.
These are two issues that Real Madrid will be hoping to strengthen their sporting structure, especially in light of the need for bridges between senior management and the dressing room, which the club has lacked in this disastrous season.
An “expert eye” to identify talent.
Kroos has always shown an exceptional ability to read matches and analyze the football, qualities that the Royals hope to benefit from in his new role.

It’s more important to expose his talent to younger players. Kroos was the first to spot Arda Guler’s talent and let the coaching staff know about it, before the young Turk became one of the club’s biggest future stars.
He could now play the same role with the emerging talents of La Fábrica as Real Madrid look to bolster their reliance on the academy after years of relying on huge deals.
