Luke Littler hailed his historic run in the world matchplay as “one of the best weeks of his life” after a record-breaking 18-9 against Garwyn Price in Blackpool.
It capped off a week in which Littler broke record after record. The 19-year-old started his week with a 109 average against Nico Springer and then took things to new heights with a 113 average and nine-darter against Nathan Aspinall.
Josh followed up with a 109 average against Rock before destroying Dirk van Duyvenbode in the semi-finals.
Littler then became the first player in a decade to retain the title at the Winter Garden, beating Price while rewriting the record books in the process.

Luke Littler smashed six brilliant 100+ checkouts as he beat Gerwyn Price 18-9 to reclaim the World Matchplay title in Blackpool.
Littler shot a 111.53 average that broke the tournament scoring record, previously set by Phil Taylor in 2010, as Littler continued his streak of winning every PDC TV Major into 2026.
He also posted six ton-plus finishes and broke his own record for most 180s in a tournament, hitting 66 throughout the week.
Not only that, but he also broke the £3m earnings barrier on his way to the final, with the latest victory boosting hopes of sweeping every ranking major in a calendar year.
These are numbers to behold and Littler himself counts them as some of the best he has ever posted in his life

Moments after Garwin Price missed a shot for a 145 checkout, Luke Littler finished 167 during their world matchplay final clash.
“It’s been a crazy week — it’s been one of the best weeks of my life,” Littler said Sky Sports.
“The darts I’ve played – it wasn’t easy. It was tough. Statistics might make it look easy but when you’re on this stage, it’s hot, it’s not easy.
“I have played some of the best darts of my life.
“Two years ago, I had a first round loss to Michael which was not the best result, the last two years, I came here with the family and we did it again.
“It’s definitely, I think it’s the best version of myself. I’m playing so well.

Luke Littler continued to smash 100+ checkouts during the World Matchplay Finals as he hit 128 and 127.
Littler said on the opening night of the World Matchplay that, if he were to defend his title, he would need to go on the Pro Tour to try for a clean sweep that would include defending his Players Championship final victory at Minehead.
With this in mind, instead of a planned trip to Spain, the number one stop in the world is Leicester.

“I don’t think my dad is too happy because we’re going to Spain but now we’re going to Leicester for some Pro Tour,” he added.
“Coming into the tournament I’ve won every big match so far so that’s what I wanted to do.
“I’ve been checking the Pro Tour rankings. I know there are four in Leicester where I have to go now.
“If I don’t qualify I’ll be grilled, if I qualify I’ll be grilled anyway so who knows what’s going to happen.”

The next PDC ranked TV major is the BoyleSports World Grand Prix from 28 September-4 October at Mattioli Arena, Leicester. Live on Sky Sports. Littler returns as the defending champion after winning the double in, double out event against Luke Humphries last year.
The Grand Slam of Darts in Wolverhampton (November 14-22) and the World Darts Championship (December 10-January 3) are both live on Sky Sports, with Littler looking to retain his titles at both events. Stream darts and more best games with no contract.
