York City have announced the departure of manager Stuart Maynard, three months after he returned the club to the English Football League after a 10-year absence.
A Club statement, outsider Posts on social media said the board “did not have an easy decision” and that it was made due to “differences in direction and vision of the football club”.

It added: “We hope that our track record of improving year after year has earned us a degree of confidence and we understand that not everyone will agree with or fully understand this decision.”
On Monday, 3 August, York host Crawley Town in a Carabao Cup preliminary round tie and their first League Two home fixture of the season against Bristol Rovers 12 days later.
