England Women kick off Rugby League World Cup preparations with win over France in Toulouse Rugby League News



England Women began their preparations for the Rugby League World Cup in their mid-season international against France on Saturday, with a dominant performance in Toulouse.

England won 38–4 in the first international match of the year at Ernst-Wallon, home of the Toulouse Olympics.

Debutant Ellis Derbyshire scored for the visitors after France went ahead from two converted penalties.

Lucy Murray touched down twice before Ella Donnelly scored her first try in an England shirt as Stuart Barrow’s side started a riot.

Woman of Steel, Eva Hunter, eluded several French defenders to make a blistering run to take the score to 28-4 at half-time.

Picking up where England left off in the second half when playmaker Jenna Foubister went on to extend the advantage before Derbyshire claimed their second, Izzy Rowe also successfully kicked five of the seven conversions.
