UK Weather: Another heatwave will sweep through the weekend after a chilly end.

Sunday will be a cooler day for the whole of England, with a cloudy start to the south and east with some rain.

With temperatures dropping by two degrees across the board, a few places will finally end their third heat wave of the year, including Usk in Monmouthshire and Exeter in Devon.

Both locations are forecast to see temperatures drop below a heat wave for the first time in 21 consecutive days.

A brighter and fresher day for all, with temperatures mostly in the mid-20s Celsius for the south-east of the UK and mid-teens Celsius for the north.

For many, the relief from the heat will be short-lived as high pressure moves south of the UK next week.

This will put an end to rain-bearing weather and any wet weather will be confined to northern and western areas – particularly north-west Scotland.

In southern parts of the UK, temperatures look set to rise again.

Touching the heat on the nearest continent, the UK could be in for another heat wave, with temperatures in England and Wales expected to soar by around 25-32C next week.
