Ibrahim Diaz is on the brink… an exclusive deal that changes everything

What will a Moroccan do?

Real Madrid’s 26-year-old Moroccan starlet Ibrahim Diaz is set for a major turnaround in his career at Royals after increasing chances of signing Ivorian talent Diomande from German side Leipzig in a deal that could upend the Royals’ attack.

Spanish outlet Mundo Deportivo reports that Real Madrid are looking to complete a deal for the 19-year-old Diomande as soon as possible after Leipzig rejected an initial offer of €100m, while Real Madrid are considering raising their bid to tempt the German club.

Diaz between staying and leaving

Although Ibrahim Diaz is included in Portuguese manager Jose Mourinho’s plans and the club’s management is looking to extend his contract, Diomande’s inclusion could change the whole equation as it would significantly reduce the Moroccan international’s participation time, which could prompt him to reconsider his position and look for an opportunity to leave.

Diaz wants to stay with the Merengue, but the new reality that could be imposed by the presence of the Ivorian talent presents him with difficult choices, especially given his desire to get regular playing time befitting his level and international status.

5 players are at risk

The impact of the Diomande deal is not limited to the Moroccan star, but includes four more players in the current squad, as Argentine Mastanto, 18, could leave on loan despite Mourinho’s previous opposition, while the future of striker Gonzalo, 22, was now under threat after the end of last season.

Diomande’s potential arrival also directly affects 20-year-old Brazilian Endric, who returns from a loan spell at Lyon, particularly at right-back, which Mourinho has been keen to try in addition to 25-year-old Rodrigo, who is currently recovering from injury and will not be back until early next year.
