Lee, 25, played in all three of the group stage matches at the World Cup, as South Korea failed to advance after two defeats.

Born in Incheon, Lee moved to Spain at the age of 10 to join Valencia’s academy and ended up playing 62 games for the club. After a long spell with Mallorca, he joined PSG in 2023, scoring 16 goals in 124 games.

They will now play for an Atletico team that finished fourth in La Liga and reached the final of the Copa del Rey last season. Lee will help fill the void left by Antoine Griezmann, who has moved to MLS as Atletico’s top scorer.
