Inter Milan are reportedly interested in signing Tottenham captain Christian Romero Italian skies
It is understood that any deal for the Argentina defender would be financially complicated for the Italian champions.
Inter are looking to sign a central defender this summer and Romero is one of their targets for the position John Stoneswho is a free agent after leaving Manchester City and has interest from Arsenal and Chelsea.
There is an expectation that Spurs will allow Romero to leave this summer if the right offer comes along. He is under contract until 2029.
The 28-year-old missed the end of last season with a knee injury and came under fire from fans for not attending Tottenham’s crucial last game against Everton, ready to watch his boyhood club Belgrano play River Plate in the Argentina Primera Division Apertura final.
Romero featured in the final game of the season as Spurs secured Premier League survival.
He made 124 appearances for the club over five seasons, scoring 12 goals and showing four red cards in the Premier League.
Inter are also keen to sign the full-back this window and are Romero’s club-mates DZ Spence One of their targets has been.
However, interest in a move for Spence appears to have lost some momentum of late. He is on the list, though, alongside Monaco’s Vanderson and Feyenoord’s Guevairo Reid.
