Jenny Sheen took a five-shot lead at the ISPS HANDA Women’s Scottish Open on Friday, as Lottie Wade, Charlie Hull and Nellie Korda once again toiled with the wind at Dundonald Links.

Despite a rough start, posting a bogey on the first, Sheen capitalized on his momentum from a sensational opening round 66 to shoot a 5-under par 67 and take a commanding five-shot lead over second-placed Ether Henselit at 11 under par.
Sheen said he had never held a five-shot lead before in his career
“I made birdies when I could and tried really hard not to make any 3-putts,” Shinn said, nearly matching his first-round score of 66.
“I’ve never had a five-shot lead before,” he added. “I’ll try to be patient the next two days. This is links golf.”
Henselit, who started on the back nine, pushed himself into single second on the leaderboard after making birdies on holes 16 and 17, before holing in for an eagle on the par five third to move to six under par through 36 holes.
The cut line was set at six over par, and after Hull endured an indifferent opening round, shooting a 78, he came into his second round tiptoeing over the cut line.

The English golfer held his nerve, combining for four birdies and three bogeys to post a one-under par 71 to book his place at the weekend, moving to five over par through 36 holes.
Her good friend and compatriot, Georgia Hall, could not recover from her first-round score of 10 over and missed the cut after dropping to 14 over after six bogeys and two birdies on day two.
Wade thrives but struggles with the putter
Day two at Dundonald Links was much improved after Wade overcame a topsy-turvy start to go two-over par for his first round.
The 22-year-old made a double bogey on the 12th hole, but bounced back with back-to-back birdies on the 14th and 15th. He then added a bogey on the 16th before making another birdie on the 17th hole
“It was pretty windy at the start,” said defending champion Wade. “I double-doubled early. So two-putted there, obviously. The rest of the day, hit some really nice iron shots for the fairways and greens.
Wade turned in two over and two more birdies on holes three and five brought him back to even.

“I didn’t really make any putts to be honest with you,” he added. “I could have shot a lot better, but I’m much happier with the way I hit today than yesterday.”
World No. 1 Nelly Korda, who started the day at even par, fell four over at the end of her second round. Korda, who started on the back nine, went two under through six holes before bogeying 16 and following that with a double bogey on the 17th hole.
The four-time major champion made a birdie on the fifth, but then made four consecutive bogeys in his last four holes to shoot a second-round 76 and move to four over par.
Solheim Cup captain Anna Nordqvist followed Korda down the leaderboard after opening her tournament with a two-under par score in the first round. On Friday, Nordqvist shot a seven-over 79 to drop to five over through 36 holes.
