One of the prominent players of “Manchester City” has reached a preliminary agreement with the club’s management to sign a long-term contract.
As reported by the British newspaper The Athletic, Phil Foden has reached an agreement with the management of “Manchester City” to extend the contract, which ends in the summer of 2027.
He noted that the term of the new contract is scheduled until the summer of 2030, with the possibility of extending it for another year.
He explained that while there are some formalities that need to be completed before the 25-year-old officially signs the contracts, the desire of both parties to continue together ensures that the extension is resolved in due course.
The player has been the subject of strong interest from Bayern Munich as he approaches the final year of his Manchester City contract.
Foden turned to renowned agent Rafaela Pimenta to lead this important phase of his professional career, as the Brazilian agent handled all negotiations with the English club’s management.
The England international joined Manchester City at the age of nine and has made 365 first-team appearances since his promotion at the age of seventeen, scoring 110 goals and providing 66 assists. During that time, he won six Premier League titles, one Champions League title and two FA Cups.
In the current season, Foden scored 10 goals and made 5 assists in 46 matches with coach Pep Guardiola’s team.
Internationally, Foden featured in England’s World Cup qualifiers last November and featured in two friendlies in March to see coach Thomas Tuchel’s final squad selected ahead of next summer’s tourneys in the USA, Canada and Mexico.
