FC Barcelona kicked off their preparations for the 2026/2027 season with a convincing 3-1 win over CE Europa in a friendly at the Joan Gamper Sports City.
La Masia Academy’s Hamza Abdel Karim stole the show in this match with a superb goal that cemented his side’s progress, confirming his talent among a promising young generation.
Barcelona started the match strongly and managed to open the scoring in the 30th minute through Brian Fariñas, and just two minutes later, Hamza Abdel Karim scored the second goal in the 32nd minute to give the Catalan side a comfortable 2-0 lead before the end of the first half.
Europe reduced the deficit with a goal scored in the 42nd minute, but Barcelona responded strongly in the second half, scoring the third goal in the 53rd minute to settle the match 3-1.
The victory is an encouraging start for coach Hans Flick, who in the absence of international stars relied on a group of young players, especially Hamza Abdel Karim, who proved his worth in the first warm-up matches.
