Rodri has informed Manchester City about his position to move to Real Madrid

Real Madrid are holding their breath as they attempt to seal one of the most high-profile deals of the summer transfer window, according to reports.

According to English journalist, Spanish Ben Jacobs, “Manchester City” midfielder Rodri revealed his position regarding the transfer to the ranks of the Royal Club during the current Mercato.

Jacobs noted that Rodri has already made it clear to Manchester City officials that he wants to join Real Madrid for sporting and family reasons, noting that the English club’s management are set to receive a formal offer despite their commitment to keep the player.

He added that the Spanish star is not expected to sign a new contract with “City”, as Rodri considers his main priority to move to Real Madrid this summer.

Real Madrid’s interest in signing Rodri grew after the remarkable levels he showed at the 2026 World Cup, where he was one of the most prominent members of the Spain squad that won the title thanks to his ability to dictate rhythm, cut through balls and build attacks.

Rodri has a contract with Manchester City until the summer of 2027, while in the Merengues he is considered an ideal option to strengthen the midfield.
