Trump has vowed to investigate the EU over sanctions against US tech companies.

Donald Trump has threatened to launch an investigation into the United States against the European Union and impose new tariffs on penalties imposed on some of the largest US technology companies.

It comes after the European Commission Google was fined €890m ($1 billion). To operate in a manner that excludes competitors to the Services.

In a post on Trump-owned Truth Social, he said the EU would pay a “huge price” for its treatment of Google, which has come under scrutiny along with other major US tech companies Apple, Meta and Amazon.

“The United States of America is not a “PIGYBANK” for Europe, nor will we allow it to be!” He wrote.

Trump said any sanctions “must be fully reversed” and that he was launching a trade investigation into the EU considering “substantial tariffs”.
