At the expense of the African champion… Malcolm shines and leads Al Hilal to another friendly victory

Brazilian winger Malcom continued his brilliant form in Al Hilal’s friendlies ahead of the start of the new 2026-2027 football season, leading them to yet another victory at the expense of the African champions.

Al Hilal beat South Africa’s Mamelodi Sundowns 2-0 in a friendly match at the Al Zaim Outdoor Camp in Austria today, Friday, in preparation for the new season.

The match saw Malcolm shine as he scored both goals for Al Hilal, starting in the first half when he was left alone in goal after a special assist from Serbian midfielder Sergej Milinkovic-Savic.

The Brazilian winger himself scored the 2nd in the second half, following a cross from rookie Sabri Dahl straight into the net.

Thus, Malcom scored 3 goals in Al Hilal’s two friendlies at their overseas camp in Austria, where he scored in a 2-1 win over Austrian side Sturm Graz.

Italian Simone Inzaghi, Al Hilal’s coach, was keen to give many players a chance, including new signings, especially international goalkeeper Mohammed Al Owais, who made his debut in the second half.

It is noteworthy that “Al-Zaim” will hold two new friendly matches in its foreign camp in Austria: on July 29, against Algeria’s Mouloudia, and on August 3, against Qatar’s Al-Ahli.
