Four Palestinians and one Israeli were killed in the West Bank.

The Palestinian Foreign Ministry said it “strongly condemns the massacre” in Tal.

“The escalation of settler terrorism is a direct result of the protection, political support and absolute impunity provided by the Israeli government and occupation forces,” he said.

“Israel’s official propaganda continues to fuel and encourage these crimes, creating an environment in which violence against settlers can flourish without accountability,” he added.

An AFP reporter at the scene, southwest of Nablus, said a roadblock had been closed and soldiers were searching for more suspects.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu announced that he would “act with full force against the terrorists and those who organize and support them.”

He called an emergency meeting with security officials and reinforcements were sent to an area close to the settlement of Havat Gilad.

Since the beginning of the Gaza war, settlers in the West Bank have been increasing attacks on Palestinians and their property, which was launched on October 7, 2023, under the leadership of Hamas against Israel.

During that period, 1,114 Palestinians were killed by the IDF, according to the United Nations. He says at least 35 of the deaths were caused by settlers.

The United Nations says 41 Israelis, including civilians and security personnel, have been killed in Palestinian attacks or Israeli military operations in the West Bank since the Gaza war began.

Israel has built about 160 settlements, home to 700,000 Jews, since its occupation of the West Bank and East Jerusalem – which Palestinians seek along with Gaza as a land to hope for a future – in the 1967 Middle East war. An estimated 3.3 million Palestinians live with them. The settlements are illegal under international law.
