Home movies they are all over the map in terms of price and performance. It is often the case that you get what you pay for. High-end projectors that mimic what you see at your local cineplex can cost upwards of $6,000. At the bottom, you can pay less than $1,000 for a home projector, but you can provide brightness, contrast, and color. Our information favorite projects live somewhere between price and quality. This is true with the BenQ TK705STi projector.
The main reason for considering the price of buying this 4K projector is that it attracts gamers, who will appreciate its low performance and large screen size. When you see James Bond on a 12.5-foot window you are playing 007 The Greatest Light on Xbox, you may wonder why you haven’t made the update sooner. Being a small throw projector, it’s also great for using the TK705STi in almost any room in your home. You can place it at a little distance from the wall or across the room, which makes for great flexibility.
That said, the TK705STi is not for everyone. Movies and TV shows didn’t look very good using this projector—and not compared to the top-rated ones. Leica Cine Play 1which costs almost double the price. I also ran into a few issues with auto-keystoneng; when i figured out how to change the screen manually, this was nice but painful.
But mostly, I recommend the TK705STi for players who don’t need a high-quality picture for home cinema, since the overall performance of this projector is average.
Having a Dream That Doesn’t Last
The BenQ TK705STi is a short-throw projector designed to be placed close to the wall. TK705STi has a throw ratio of .8:1, which means that you divide the size of the wall by a small percentage. To get a 10-foot-wide image, for example, you place the projector about 8 feet away, which is what I did in my windowless test space. (Later, in a bright family room with large windows, I expanded the screen to 12 feet wide by placing the projector 10 feet from the wall.)
When I put the projector in place, I noticed that his legs were shaking. Not to be swayed, but for the lack of stability I would have preferred a midrange projector like this one. If I knock it on the table, the projector can be easily swung around and start re-keying – something I found to be very difficult, as I often end up accidentally projecting onto the wall or screen. (For what it’s worth, the BenQ reps said this is not normal and could be related to my projector software.)
