Klopp starts the German era with strong messages: I’m not afraid to leave… and expect surprises

Jurgen Klopp has started his era as Germany coach with a clear and ambitious message, stressing that managing the Manschaft is the pinnacle of his coaching career and that he will not hesitate to make bold decisions to return the national team to the podium.

After taking over from Julian Nagelsmann, who stepped down after the team’s failure at the 2026 World Cup, Klopp spoke at length about his artistic vision, plans for the future and his relationship with fans and players, stressing that success will not be achieved overnight, but promises to present a team with a clear identity and strong personality.

“It is a great honor to sit here today. What has been happening to me for the past few days is like a movie playing in my mind and the thoughts are piling up in my head. Where did it all start and where did I come from?’

“I already knew how big the task of coaching the national team is, but when you are responsible for it, you feel its magnitude and responsibility even greater. Considering my past, it was unimaginable for me to reach this stage.”

He continued. “This is a very special day for me and I would like to thank everyone who contributed to making this happen. But I’m not a blank slate. I came with colleagues and I’m not doing it for myself.”
