Al-Shabaab club have started their deals in the current summer transfer window by signing a contract with the former Al-Ittihad player.
“Al-Shabab” club announced through its official website “X” account that it has signed a contract with former “Al-Ittihad” midfielder Awad Al-Nashiri on a free transfer deal after the end of his contract with “Tigers”.
Al-Asmi club has clarified that the Saudi player will join the team on a two-season contract that will end in 2028, with the option to extend it for an additional season.
Awad Al-Nashiri became the fourth to leave Al-Ittihad in the current summer transfer window, following Colombian striker Ricardo Carballo, Brazilian midfielder Fabinho and Saudi winger Abdulaziz Al-Bishi.
The 24-year-old left on a free after his contract, which was due to expire at the end of last season, was not renewed, after six years at Al Ittihad after being promoted to the first team in 2020.
Al-Nashri became the first signing officially completed by Al-Shabaab in the current summer transfer window under new German coach Thomas Leach after he took charge of replacing Algerian Noureddine Ben Zekri.
Awad Al-Nashiri is seeking to regain participation mainly through Al-Shabaab club in order to return to the Saudi Arabia squad, with whom he participated in the 2023 Arabian Gulf Cup.
It is noteworthy that the Saudi midfielder has participated in 80 matches with the first team of the Al-Ittihad club during the past six seasons, during which he did not manage to become the author of a single goal or assist.
