In the style of Jesus… Al-Nasr signs former Al-Hilal coach

The two poles of Riyadh compete over everything

Al-Nasr Club have decided to sign a former Al-Hilal coach in the style of their former Portuguese coach Jorge Jesus next season.

He said Saudi Al-Riyadiya newspaper Al-Nasr Club have decided to sign Brazilian coach Marcos Suarez to lead the Under-21 team in the next Air Elite League season.

Suarez will be assisted by his compatriot Fernando Junior as goalkeeper coach, Portuguese Miguel Arias as first assistant and Badr Aba Al-Hussein as second assistant.

Suarez was introduced to Saudi football through Al Hilal, particularly in 2021 when he coached the under-17 team, before moving to Saudi Arabia’s under-19 team in 2023 and the under-20 team in 2024.

The biggest achievement of the Brazilian coach’s career was winning the West Asia Under-17 Championship with Saudi Arabia and qualifying for the finals of the 2025 World Under-20 Championship in Chile.

Suarez will be in charge of the Al-Nasr U-21 team, after they had a bye in the previous Air Elite League in the quarter-finals following a home-and-away loss to Al-Fateh.

Notably, the last coach to lead Al-Nasr after a stint at neighboring and arch-rivals Al-Hilal was Portugal’s Jorge Jesus, who won the Roshen League title with them last season after winning the 2023-2024 season with Al-Zaim.
