Arsenal are interested in John Stones and Izzy Koncer as they look to sign a centre-back this summer after news of an extension to the sidelines. William Saliba.

Saliba avoided needing surgery on a back injury sustained during France’s World Cup semi-final loss to Spain but the 25-year-old faces a lengthy rehabilitation.

They have Gabriel, Riccardo Calafiori, Cristian Mosquera, Jurien Timber and Ben White as centre-back options.

White has returned to training after suffering a knee injury in May, while Timbers said this week that he will “hopefully be back soon” as he continues to rehab from a groin problem.
