US renews attack on Iran as Trump threatens to attack Pickaxe Mountain

The United States attacked Iran for the 11th night in a row after Tehran warned the US not to target its nuclear facilities.

The United States Central Command (CENTCOM) said the attack on the coast of Hormuz was designed to continue to threaten Iranian merchant ships.

Iranian state media reported that air defenses were deployed in the capital, Tehran. Explosions took place in Tabriz, Chabahar, Konarak and Bushahr, home to Iran’s only nuclear power plant.

Iran, which has retaliated against the US and its Middle East allies, has warned of retaliation after Donald Trump said the US would soon strike an underground nuclear site near Natanz.

“The unprovoked attack has endangered hundreds of innocent seafarers and undermined freedom of navigation,” he said.

Kuwait’s military said early Wednesday that its air defenses were responding to Iranian drone strikes, while Bahrain and Jordan said they had intercepted drones and missile strikes.

“We’re going to hit that area very soon,” Trump told reporters after meeting with Lebanese President Joseph Aoun at the White House.

Iran’s Khatam al-Anbiya military command said it would consider such an attack “an escalation of war in the region” and “may attack all US interests, allies and supporters,” state broadcaster IRIB reported.

A Houthi media official said earlier that they were closing the Bab al-Mandab bay – the southern entrance to the Red Sea – to Saudi ships.
