Leigh Halfpenny commits to Cardiff coaching future

Cardiff head coach Corniel van Zyl believes Halfpenny’s achievements, which include scoring 801 points and winning 101 Wales caps and being highly regarded as a three-time Lions tourist, are invaluable qualities.

Van Zyl said: “It’s clear and obvious from last year’s work that all our kickers have improved. He’s so professional and hardworking in everything he does, so I’m excited to see his impact now moving into a full-time role.

“He will work with all our kickers from goal-kicking and touch-kicking etc to our scrum-halves and their tactics, but he will also work within the academy, which will be really beneficial to his growth and development as a coach.

“He has a great future as a coach and we look forward to welcoming him back to the Arms Park after another great experience with the national squad.”
