Medical experts said that 12 people, including 6 families, died in the attack by Israel in Gaza

At least 12 Palestinians, including six members of the same family, were killed in three separate Israeli attacks on the Gaza Strip, local doctors said.

Video footage shows the family’s apartment burning overnight in the western al-Sabra neighborhood of Gaza City.

Fras al-Masri’s brother told the BBC that he died in the fire along with his wife, Salsabel, and their three daughters, Faryal, Salma, Amira and Naim.

The Israeli military said the target was a Hamas militant and was still investigating the results of the attack.

Four more people were killed in an Israeli airstrike on a house in the central Gaza city of Al Samar on Tuesday afternoon, Palestinian media reported.

Two more people were killed in an Israeli drone attack on a vehicle in the Al Zahra area, south of Gaza City, he added.

The Israeli army has yet to comment on those attacks.

According to Gaza’s Hamas-run health ministry, at least 1,168 Palestinians have been killed in Israeli attacks since a ceasefire between Israel and Hamas began last October.

At the same time, four Israeli soldiers were killed in a Palestinian attack in Gaza.

The United Nations Human Rights Office on Tuesday condemned the escalating Israeli military offensive in Gaza.

Between July 13 and 20, at least 57 Palestinians, including six children and eight women, were killed in attacks on residential buildings, tents of displaced families and other crowded areas, spokesman Tamin al-Khetan said.

He added that 34 of those people were killed from the so-called Yellow Line, an area of the Gaza Strip controlled by the Israeli army.

“Nine months after the ceasefire was declared, there is still no safe place for the Palestinians in Gaza,” Al-Khetan said.

He warned that the killing of civilians “raises the risk of continuing violations of international humanitarian law, war crimes and other heinous crimes in Gaza.”

On October 7, 2023, an attack on Israel led by Hamas killed approximately 1,200 people and took 251 hostages.

Israel responded by launching a major military operation in Gaza, during which more than 73,290 people have been killed, according to the state’s health ministry.
