How the former Blue Peter presenter surprised the judges of America’s Got Talent

Walking into the judges’ dressing room and taking some of their valuables may not be the best way to get them on your side.

Smashing those items with a hammer is less likely to help your chances.

But that’s exactly what Mauney did before leaving Mel B, Sofia Vergara and Howie Mandel to show that each somehow survived.

Mandel’s phone was kept in a locked box in front of the jury throughout the trial.

The phone then began receiving texts from Mauney telling the other judges where their lost valuables had been.

A framed picture of Vergara’s dog was hidden in her seat cushion, and Mel B’s bracelet was hidden in one of her famous Got Talent red outfits.

“I don’t know how you do it. I believe in magic but I love it,” Mel B said as she gave her verdict, which was yes.

Vergara laughed and said, “The magic was amazing.” She voted yes, saying, “I don’t know if that’s important, but it was fun.”

Mendel called Mauney “interesting, you’ve got a good look,” but said the performance was “too slow,” and there was no comment from the comedian.

Simon Cowell agreed with the length of the performance, saying, “You can’t do that in a live show.”

“Our audience loves magic, which is exactly why I say yes.”

With three yeses, Mawhinney advances to the next stage and retains the chance to win the cash prize.
