Twitch allows parents to stop their kids from going live

Twitch is giving parents more control over how their kids use the platform, including the ability to block them from broadcasting entirely. Parental controls are now available that allow parents to link the Twitch accounts of their children between the ages of 13 and 17, providing them with an account management interface and a weekly email with a summary of their child’s activity, including the channels and hours they watch.

Controls can be used to block teens from showing their content and disable Whispers, Twitch’s private feature. This includes restricting children from sending or receiving DMs. Parents can also set flexible daily limits for Twitch across all their kids’ devices and block content and more. group notes – such as Gambling, Adult-Rated Games, Sexual Themes, etc. – to avoid appearing in search results or approved feeds.

The parental control dashboard is available in Account Settings under the Family Center page. When a parent-managed Twitch user turns 18, their account is removed from their parent’s account. Twitch says it will explore additional parental controls in the future, noting that the changes are optional “at this time.”
