Garmin’s new screenless tracker doesn’t require registration

Garmin announced a new intelligence team today designed to track “more fitness and health” without a screen to eliminate distractions and push battery life up to 10 days between charges. Similar to competing products like This is 5.0 and Google Fitbit Air has been released recentlyCirqa uses heart rate, blood pressure, skin temperature, and motion sensors to monitor your health and activity all the time, but without any subscription fees.

The smart band can track more than 80 activities such as running or yoga that can be selected through the accompanying Garmin Connect app or using the side button as a shortcut to your favorite activities. Through the program you can monitor the progress of your training including the effectiveness of the exercise and if your body is ready for your next session of training or you can benefit more from a rest day.

Worn around the clock, Circa can track health data including your heart rate and blood oxygen levels that can help diagnose conditions like asthma and shortness of breath. In the morning it can provide you with detailed information about your sleep stages, breathing, and heart rate which helps you get enough sleep so you can compare your rest to the previous nights. Women can also use Cirqa’s skin temperature monitoring to track their menstrual cycle to “get more accurate seasonal and historical ovulation estimates.”
